Campaign Experience
My senior year at LSU my capstone class required each student to form a team and run a campaign for a local business. My team, called Evolve PR, ran a PrEP awareness campaign for a local health clinic called Open Health Care Clinic (OHCC). PrEP is a biomedical prevention service that uses a one pill once a day to prevent HIV. The pill is about 92% effective and available at little to no cost, and is covered by most insurance policies, so our main goal was to make sure our target audiences knew PrEP was easily available to them. My team and I created social media posts, designed informational brochures, and made stickers all highlighting OHCC's PrEP services. We planned a "Prepare for PrEP weekend" which hoped to have local target audiences come out to Club Elite and Splash (local gay bars) as well as OHCC's classroom to learn about PrEP as well as what OHCC could do to help them, and at the end receive a SWAG bag filled with goodies such as stickers, pens, condoms, and informational pamphlets. Our team also successfully secured multiple billboards in the Baton Rouge area for OHCC to increase awareness of the clinic.
